Default Another Craiglist Guitar that I need Opinion on

I know next to nothing about Squires except that people think that they are great modding platforms. I got that Yamaha Pacifica the other day, and it has some nice PUPs in it. I'm wondering if a $75 Squire might be a better base than a Pacifica.

Not that one. It's an Affinity. Bottom of the line with cheap electronics and a thinner body.

    Pacifica is better, no doubt.

Excellent, thanks. Just what I needed to know. I already had permission from the wife to go get that one too.

Just out of curiosity, how in the world can you tell? The pictures are small and there's no real info about it being an Affinity in the ad...

Yeah Eric. That's exactly why I posted it here...because I can't tell either. I figured someone would know enough about Squires to know which years might be good, and be able to tell the model by the headstock or something.

I don't know anything about Pacifica guitars, but I do own two Affinity guitars: a strat and a tele. And I wouldn't dismiss them so readily. I love them both and play them both out regularly and get complimented on sound, tone, playability, etc. They get my vote for bang for the buck.

    Just sayin.

Are Squire Affinities routed for a humbucker in the bridge position?
