I went to buy the '61 SG and came home with this instead

That is one gorgeous guitar. How original is it? Year? p'ups?
seriously. nicely done.
It plays beautifully. I've been tweaking it in for a few days now. Sounds right between a strat and a les paul. I will try to get a clip or two over the next couple of days. Probably the stratiest gibson there is, which is perfect for me
MMm Firebird!! awesome guitars.. Oh how I love the sound of those minihumbuckers!
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

Yeah I would take that over just about any SG out there (though the '61 DOES look pretty sweet). I've always loved the Firebird tone, and they're just cool lookin' guitars too.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I hope you're happy together for a LONG time to come.
Congrats what a great looking AXE!!

That's a fine looking Firebird!
Oh yum!
Congrats.
I have a cheapo Epi Thunderbird bass, and that's a bosstastic body style. If I wasn't out of room and money, I'd have a Firebird as well.
