EDIT: same guitar and amp at other location with no problem so it's not the guitar...

Still battling that annoying hiss and buzz from my amp. it is quiet as anything at my practice location but when i bring it home its unhappy. I used a wall plug tester to check the wiring , it tells me it is wired and grounded correctly. I noticed yesterday if i roll the tone pots all the way off it eliminates the hum but thats not really an ideal solution, as the strat gets very muddy and unsparkly :-/. I thought maybe the fact that the tone pot can mostly remove the hum might be a hint as to what's really going on though. perhaps a ground loop in the way the electrical sockets are wired? If i can determine what it is I'd love to talk to my landlord about getting it fixed by his electrician and paying for it if it is not totally obscene in cost. Its worth it to me to be able to play guitar with a clean sound. its driving me insane...
