    Default Computer storage question

I have 2 external USB hard drives. Is there a way to have my computer put back up material on them as I add new stuff? I've been doing this manually with music albums but it's a PITA with pictures and other files remembering what I've already transfered to storage.

Yes, I know there's a way, though I couldn't name you any apps off the top of my head. It's a fairly standard practice for many data freaks.

What's your OS? In Linux, you can use a pretty simple script to do it for you that's built right into the system.

I'm on Windows XP. I guess I can search around the web but I figured there might some users here that had this figured out. I hate picking up information off the street. I'd much rather get it at home.

There must be several applications available for Windows that solve your problem. I can't personally recommend any myself, as I'm a Linux freak and haven't used Windows in a few years now, but maybe these links will give you some practical ideas?

If you are running XP then do a search for FABS autobackup.

    http://fabs.dyndns.org/

There are a number of solid free programs out there. I realize the point of the thread was to get a recommendation, so I'm sorry I can't point one out.

Hopefully this one works for you.

I'll still check it out. Synctoy does what I'm looking for. I don't know if fabs does without the bloat. Still I'm going to check it out. Couldn't today because I had an out of town gig.

Spud check out Acronis True Image....In my less than humble opinion it is the best backup and restore option out there.
