Nothing wrong with Pledge on a poly finish. It's pretty impervious. So it's fine on most post '65 Fender bodies and maple necks. Use a more specialist product on nitro-cellulose finishes.
On rosewood I'd use lemon oil if it's very dry but any similar product is fine. On the whole, I don't bother cleaning rosewood. Finger grease seems to season it just as well as more expensive products (dons flame proof suit)
    Electric: Fat strat > Korg PB > TS7 > DS1 > DD-20 > Cube 60 (Fender model)

Acoustic: Guitar > microphone > audience

New American Standard came via UPS truck and its not staying in tune very
well as its COLD in the truck. Now that its been 6 hours, its staying in tune
better. I called the GC guy as I thought I needed new strings, and He told me
the strings are not a week old and not too many people played it after the store set it up, and that it needed about 12 hours to warm up to be as it should be. I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I changed the pickguard on the black strat and I have to say its the nicest
feeling guitar, neckwise, that I own. Butter Smooth !!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is an ancient thread, but I figure it'll be more relevant to introduce myself here.

I purchased ctguy1955's Strat and took some time to bring it back to "stock-like" condition.

I say it like this since I used a product known as a ToneShaper beneath the original pickguard.
My goal was to bring it back to a stock set-up, but to wasn't too crazy about standard soldering to bring it back to the 250K pots.

I found a used ToneShaper unit for a great price to address what I was looking to do.
The end result is a playful quality strat with some added benefits you'd never know existed unless explained.

    - An incorporated Volume Kit retaining true tone during volume adjustments
    - A dip switched 33 uf cap setting
    - An incorporated Blender Mode between the Neck and Bridge pickups

The only other mod I did was to install some Callaham saddles

    Have a look! http://picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/24533220

All said, the results are way beyond my greatest expectations.

Looks awesome! Welcome to the forum by the way!

Got any clips we can hear with the guitar?

Thx - It's a US Namm Mojo Nitefly. Had it stuck in with the picture group. (My bad)

I guess I was expecting more dialog on the ToneShaper. No matter.

I a bit cornfused here zman. I bought a Fender Telebration thin line back in 2011. It has a 60th Anniversary stamped neck plate. But no jeweled headstock or anything like that. I was under the impression that these were limited edition guitars (500). So what do I have here??? Is it not a true 60th Anniversary model?

I'm neither Zman, nor did I begin this thread.
But as I understand it, Strat's and Tele's had (what I'll refer to as) different birthdays.
This thread 60th anniversary discussion centered around Strat's which by the way was confusing enough.

A quick google search revealed this link which might better address your particular question.

There were 6 models made, period, that were Anniversary Editions. They had 4 American made guitars including the Tele, Strat, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass. These came in 3 color burst. And all had rosewood boards.
They came with a sliver commemorative case, a jeweled headstock inlay and a stamped 60th Ann. neck plate. The american ones came fully equipped with modern delta tone, and S1 switching.
There were also two Made in Mexico Anniversary models in Blizzard Pearl.

A strat with a maple board and a precision bass. These came with the Jewelled inlay and stamped neck plate as well. The Strat had Tex Mex pickups an Alder body, and came with a special commemorative 50th Anniversary logo gig bag. The bass had American series precision bass split single coil pickups, vintage style bridge and new knurled chrome Pbass knobs. It also came with a special 60th Ann. logo gig bag.
If you do not have one of these all you have is a fender guitar that was made in the 60th year.
Every one is calling their guitars 60th Anniversary models, and this leads to confusion.
I just thought I might clear that up.
These are the 60th Anniversary models I am familiar with. I own one of the MIM standard strats in Blizzard Pearl. Spoken of in this review:
    http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revie...er?no_takeover

The first review has one thing wrong, saying 22 frets when they are 21 fret guitars. The American version was a burst model. Don't know much about the teles. I know they had a bass too.

This is what mine looks like. It was my first electric, and I still love it!!

    now with changed out PG:

I just was playing it last night. I love the tone still!!

And here is (what I think was) my first thread ever on this forum, unless I asked a question about Vox amps first. "Walking in the park and reminiscing . . . " (sorry ) @Spudman

Thanks Robert! It is what got me started lo these many years ago! I love my modded CV Tele for what it is, and love my Hagstrom, but this "first love" will always have a special place in my heart. And it is a good touch or two above those other two guitars in build quality, especially in terms of finish, and the comfort and feel of the neck.

Well I have not been around for a while. I just came back for a visit and saw my old thread was back on line. I guess I should bring everyone up to date.
In late January, I was diagnosed with Colon cancer. I had a successful operation, on Feb. 1 and six months of chemo. On Sept. 30, I had my results from a CT scan and blood work came back negative for Cancer. So far I am feeling great, except for one thing. Due to the Oxyplatin drug I have lost a lot of the feeling in my fingertips, and I am having a lot of problems playing guitar!. By now I had a total of 21 Electric guitars. I have begun to sell off my collection. I sold off most of my lower end guitars, and did very well on them. Over the years I had soured on Strats, and kept only 2 of the nine I had. My 60th, and my 50th Anni Deluxe went for basically what I paid for them.
I kept all of my Gibsons and Epis, and I am slowly getting the feeling back in my fingers. I am having a little sellers remorse, but did not want to stick my wife with 21 guitars to sell, had my health taken another direction.
I am back to playing hockey twice a week, and have made an amazing recovery, according to my doctors.
As far as the information in this thread, I took all of it from the Fender Frontline catalogue for those years. I had collected one for every year that I owned a guitar, that was in the catalogue. When I sold those guitars as a perk, I gave the new owner the copy of the Frontline, so I do not have those available any more. So what I said back in 2010 will be all I can tell you. I will try to be available for any questions I may be able to answer.

Wonderful recovery news, ZMAN! I'm so happy for you. I love it when someone gets to kickazz on something I hate with a passion: Cancer. I've lost too many good people to it.

Thanks guys. I am cancer free so far. I still have to have blood tests every 3 months and a ct scan every 6 months. The strange thing is that my pick hand seems to be affected more. I think you will see a lot more of this since they have hung a name on it. Chemicaly induced Peripheral Neuropathy.
On a side note another Fret Member, Duffy, is undergoing a 12 hour Surgery today at Syracuse medical center to remove a Cancerous growth from his remaining kidney.
I am not sure if he is as active as in the past but he does require some Mojo from the group.
We have kept in touch over the years.

It looks as if you got your info on the guitar. I never knew there was a 60th Tele. I have only owned two Teles and they were both Classic Vibes. I had the Tele Custom
and sold it as well. I did very well on it, almost getting what I paid for it. When the Butterscotch model came out I grabbed one. They are an amazing guitar! I am keeping that one.
