    there are upgrade kits out there,
    I've never had a problem with mine (dunlop). I a/b'd it thru a switcher and could not sense any difference. mine is buffered and before all my pedals(except tuner) so it really works out nice actually.

    I think buffered is the way to go in my situation atleast.
