Of course they had cell phones in 1928... Just no cell towers, so they were considered useless and not seen for many decades.

Also, there were no zebras in 1928. Sheesh, I thought everyone knew that!

One theory is she is holding a type of hearing aid.

My preferred theory is that she is actually a Terminator.

But the real question is who her carrier was. Verizon or AT&T.

That was my first thought, until I remembered that a 1928 style two way radio would have been the size of a large piece of luggage. No transistors in the 20's you see.

    However...

I did some poking around and found this bad boy. Not a 2way, but as I mentioned before, a hearing aid from 1924

    LINKAGE

    Case closed perhaps?

Also, check out her feet. That "woman" has some size 14's going on there.

The technology of how the device worked is flat out amazing to me. Even with my fancy 20th century electronics training, I'd be scratching my head trying to design an amplifier that did not use tubes or transistors. (apart from mechanical devices like the good old Ear Trumpet)

I mean "Carbon Granule Chamber" To me that sounds like some kind of CO2 scrubber or water purification device, not part of an amp.

OK so I'm going to surf on over to Mouser and see if I can order a couple of carbon-granule chambers. Maybe work them into a fuzz pedal design

Has no-one considered that she might be simply straightening her hair or hat??? It has brought the bloke's film festival to world attention though. A shrewd bit of viral marketing.

    Here's the likely culprit...

Maybe she's the mother, grandmother or relative in general of Bozo the Clown?

It's obvious she is a real time traveler.

Obviously the Swedish guy went back to 1928 and gave her a cellphone... too obvious!
