    Default Hello all!

Merry Christmas everyone! My name is Underdog but y'all can just call me Dog. I have been playing off and on for over 30 years. Might sound like a lot but I am a mediocre at best rhythm player never mind lead. I like classic rock, oldies, big band / swing, old school country, etc. I grew up listening to the great tunes of the 50s and 60s when I was a kid. My influences are the Beatles, Tom Jones, and Les Paul. I have been in a couple bands since high school but nothing to write home about.

I look forward to participating in discussions and if you guys have any questions, just ask!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

@oldguy: I don't really have any favorite gear. I am a fan of Gretsch and Gibsons even though I don't own any... yet. I am in the St. Louis metro east area so not real far from you.

You live in East St. Louis? In a fortress or something?

Welcome to the forum Dog. I get to St. Louis during the late summers. Maybe we can hook up sometime.

LMAO! If I would have said,"in da city" that would have meant ESL. No, I live further north near Alton, Il which isn't a whole lot better than ESL when it comes to drug dealers and violent crime.

Squier Fat Strat, mid 80's Kramer import ( read POS!), an Alvarez 6 and 12 string, and my old modified Arbor from 1980 which I really should get around to putting back together one of these days. Currently, I am ampless and looking for a new one... just have to decide which one to get between Vox and Fender. I plan on buying a new guitar this spring. It is a toss up between a Gretsch Electromatic, Epi LP of some sort, and Casino. I am a firm believer that you don't have to shell out a bunch of money for a good guitar; you just have to be willing to play a bunch to find the one that is well built and feels best. P'ups can be replaced for a fraction of the cost of a a high end ax.

I just noticed the name as your user title. I wish King would have told what happened to Cuthbert and Alain. Great books!

I named our old dog Roland. We later acquired (funny how you always "acquire" them...) a black cat and named him Walter.

"The cal in black fled across the living room and the gunslinger followed..."

Sadly neither is with us anymore...
