NGD Epiphone G400 "Tiger"

I recently have had the pleasure of being loaned 2 SG's both copies one an Epiphone with 57 classic pups and the other a vineyard with 57 classic plus pickups.

The quality of the guitars both were very good I gave the vineyard a slight edge but very slight. But one thing I noticed was playing both of them made my shoulder hurt maybe I'll need to stretch or something 1st. But my shoulder was in pain after about 30 minutes or so playing either axe.

Makes want a double cutaway just not an SG.
BTW both sets of pickups are great man-o-man Gibson sure know how to make great pickups.

Do you think the problem was that your were "holding" the guitar in place, or was it the hand position on the neck. I personally like the feel of the neck on an SG.

Yea I found it later. Not too much on where they are made and what they cost.
Looks like a typical Chinese/korean copy.

you are correct they cost in the 399 to 499 usa range.

Thanks SVL. You know I am liking this so much I am actively looking for a Gibson Version. I will probably get a Standard, or faded Brown. I put out an add on a local Kijiji/buy and sell. I got one reply so far for a Gibson SG Faded special 3 in Ebony. A pretty cool looking Tuxedo treatment. 3 pickups 1 volume, 1 tone and a 6 way switch. Two 490rs and a 490T open coils. I really like the look but the white guard has to go. I can get a Black for it for about 30. I will probably hold out for a Standard though. I am all about bling.

i just bought a 1991 epi sg goth,bridge pup did not work and was a bit buzzy trip to luthier and 60 bucs latter got a new better than duncan 59 and git is a dream-plays like the gibby sg i used to play back in 75

I have since purchased a 2004 Gibson SG Standard and it is much better balanced than the G400, Not neck heavy at all.
I am still pretty impressed with the G400 though. After the fret level and a solder job on the jack, it is quite noiseless, and has a super low action. That one is going to my vacation home. I actually like the pickups on the G400 as well.
