I was just going over in my head who I felt were true Canadian music Icons, and was suprised to see only five references of this man listed here on the Fret, and 3 of them were from me.
As much as I love the Tragically Hip, this man just captures 'Canadiana' for me and so many others...

I found out about him a few years ago as he was a student of one of my heroes, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.NICE!!!
Bhatt created the Mohan Veena, the instrument Manx is playing in the first video; an acoustic guitar to which Bhatt added both drone and sympathetic strings to achieve some of the sounds found in Indian classical music.

Are there any Fretters on the European side of the world that may have had some expose to Canadian artists? I can think of a couple that seemed to do much better there than here.
