I was reminded the other night of why I play very little bass.
Was hanging out doing fireworks with the neighbors (the guys I play with) and while we didn't set up and play full out, the bass player had his bass and amp outside for a bit and the other guy had one of his keyboards out.
I had the bass for a bit and realized fairly quickly that unless I'm playing the bass part of an actual song (I know most of the Zeppelin bass parts) there are very few things I know how to play with the bass.
As fun as the song is to play, there's only so many times I can play "Hamp's Hump" before it gets tiresome.
I'm sure I also looked funny, but I look funny most of the time anyway.
