    Smile My son-in-law's band...

My son-in-law's band just returned from playing a cruise with, as crazy as this sounds,
headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special. My son-in-law is the bass player for
    "The Brantley Gilbert Band", BTW.

He said it was a great experience. He also said that Lynyrd Skynyrd, while being great
musicians and really great guys, were so polished that every show was note for note the
same. Never variates. He said that 38 Special was just amazing all around.... They
went to Cozumel and back, I think he said.

In the next month or so they are already booked to go back "on the road again" with
Willie Nelson and his band. They seem to be doing alright and he's starting to make a little
    more money.

Jason Aldean, another country artist, has bought 2 or 3 of their songs which is a good sign I think.

Nice. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig.

Geez, the only kind of music acts I get to see on cruises are "one man bands," and one Filipino group that was hilarious, played great, but did only covers.

Congrats for your son, and tell him that if Willie invites him back to the bus to wear a mask with a GOOD smoke filter. It may be necessary. Just sayin'.
