Fledgling attempt

I've been playing around with Cubase, importing, exporting, mixing, recording, and big time learning. Man this stuff is hard! Anyway...
This backing track is from the Boss Loop Station disc and the guitars are me through the Behringer V Amp(h).
Mixing and great tone is not so easy as I'd hoped it to be. Nonetheless, here tis. Snot perfect.

Thanks. Ya, it's the birthday guitar.
It sure is intimidating trying to get comfortable enough to work quickly though. But it is fun. The sound is so much better than with the old cassette four track.
The really hard part is getting original ideas to flow quickly and get them down with a rhythm track.
A ProTools specialist at GC told me to learn the shortcut keys. That does help tremendously.

Well, as impefect as it may seem to you, there's probably a couple hundred thousand wanna-be players who'd kill to pull off a clip like that. Myself, I liked the mood of the piece - - kind of Dream Theater meets Joe Satriani. Nice playing too, Spud.

BTW - if you're looking for any Line 6 tones to convert into use with your V-Amp, let me know. I have loads of 'em.

Great mix there Spudsman. It has that progressive rock you have been telling me about. It will be interesting to hear your 10th session or so with cube base. I heard the looper in the song, but if I was not looking for it. I would not have noticed. Good job on the looper too.

Way to go! I am impressed not only by the playing but the original idea. As a newbie still learning my chords, improvisation and originality seem distant at this point.

By the way, which GC do you go to when you go? Boise? Ogden or SLC?

Excellent Spudman!! Loved the interaction between the 2 guitar lines. I got really frustrated with Cubase myself a few months back but this has inspired me to get back into it.

No joke! I had a 4 track portastudio before and it was horrible. Especially if you used anything but brand new tapes every time.

Yes, its very easy to get disorientated with recording software. It helps out a lot when you learn the shortcut keys to the most used functions (cut/paste/copy/new track et.c)
