Default Weekly (LOL!) NGD - Mid 90's Ibanez Talman TC 420

Fixed a busted LCD TV I had layin' around and sold it off - used some of the proceed to fund this purchase.

Ibanez Talman - Korean made, 2 humbucker model, metal flake green. Sounds just OK - found a cheap 3-way and micro pots under the pickguard but the inside of the cavity is totally shielded - not copper but aluminum. I figure with new pots and a new switch that'll do just fine for awhile - but it's a great player and I love the Jag style body.

    Different that's for sure!

    very nice,

also just fixed my own lcd tv and saved some $$, so maybe that means I get another guitar?

(samsung bad capacitors issue, 10 min soldering job and $10 in parts)

Exactly the same on my Akai - 3 bad caps on the power board. Rate at 85c, I replaced with 105c and all was well. Piece of cake!

Play with the pickup height on that. It changes so much with those Ibanez guitars. I have a bunch of them and height is critical and usually lower is better. Those are really good guitars once everything is in order. Congrats too, they hold their value very well.

NICE! I would wish you "congrats" with an exclamation point as well, but this might be in a trade for something else in a week (lol).

    Enjoy the guitfiddle, man!

    Congratulations!
Ibanez makes some very good quality guitars.

That middle picture should have been taken to the left a bit to get the jazz bass too!

That's my lone remaining bass - an SX shortscale Jazz. Killer bass for the money - you know how it is though, the bass ALWAYS steal the show and this post was about the Talman

Wow, cool, I'd definitely snap up a Talman if I wasn't flat as a floogie (I am) and out of storage space (I also am), especially a P-90 version. I think the 2xHB are most common, then the 3xlipstick. Hardly ever see the P-90's.

I really like the styling on those. The combination of Strat input jack and Tele-style control plate as one piece I always found very clever. Neat design.

    Congrats!
