    Default Thanks pop!!

Today is Memorial Day in the USA. Thanks Pop for what you did.......enlisted 1943, discharged 1946 from the Army. Served briefly in Northern Africa....traversed the Indian sub-continent back-and-forth.......spent the remainder of his time along the Burma Trail in Southern China.

He was a medical tech/assistant.....in charge of mending our boys who needed fixin'.....especially when our planes would crash in Southern China.

Not a political statement, so let's keep it that way......just a way to honor those who have served and sacrificed.

Missed this last week. My sentiments as well. I hate all wars, but treasure those who have stepped into harm's way, regardless of the politics or situation that put them there.

I've been reading the historical accounts and books that HBO's The Pacific was based on. Incredible hell the Marines went through, especially the little known yet most difficult chapter of WWII, Peleliu.

I should give prop's to my Dad for serving in the Navy during Korea. His little tin can destroyer saw a fair amount of action.

I was in the Marine Corps until my rotator cuff imploded. In some ways I wish I served a full tour, but in other ways, I'm glad I didn't!
