    Default Question about branding

Hey all. So far, folks on this forum have been able to answer my dumb questions with superb ability. So I have a new one, which I'm hoping won't turn out to be a stumper.

Some months back, I bought a used Fender Frontman 212R (a modern combo amp featuring 2 12" speakers and some rather crunchy drive effects). Now, I've been researching this amp and have come to a couple of conclusions: 1) It really is a fantastic piece of equipment (it makes my Squier Bullet sound like a very expensive guitar), and 2) While I'm sure it's a genuine Fender Frontman amp, the branding on the front control plate and on the back is different from the branding I've seen in photos of this amp. Where photos always show the letters "Frontman 212R" in that famous Fender script, mine has "FM 212R" in big block letters. Also it has black mesh on the face as opposed to the lighter-colored material usually seen on these amps (I'd assumed the original mesh had been replaced by some previous owner, but I don't know).

So, here's the question: Have any of you knowledgable folks seen this branding on these amps? And if so, does this signify any significant different in the amp itself? I have downloaded the owner's manual for the Frontman 212R and it doesn't mention it. I should also point out that everything else - knobs, specific controls, power usage, footswitch, etc - is exactly the same.

    Thanks in advance,
    scruff

That's exactly it! So just a minor change specifically for a period of time?
