I looked out the window when I woke up and there was a stranger in the yard.

    I wonder where Mama was?
Are you in a rural setting? My daughter lives in the Capital of Maine and she has regular visits from, Deer, and Turkeys.

Before we knew the fawn was there, I did see a big deer walking off into the woods about 75-100 feet from where the little one was lying. We too were wondering if she had been abandoned. After she was up and beginning to wander around I was afraid our dog might figure out she was there and frighten her. So I put him in his crate and did my best impression of a baby deer. I got on my hands and knees casually began to approach her. I thought she might associate me with 'mom' or something. I actually got pretty close to her, maybe 20 feet or so, before she calmly walked off into the woods.

    Awwww.... Cute!

On the mornings when I take Baby Kat into daycare, sometimes we'll see an older doe and two yearlings running around. It's always a cool sight to see.

    I totally expected this:

    "Talk about a complete unknown.

Bob Dylan was detained by police in Long Branch, N.J. last month, when a young officer failed to recognize him, police said. The officer proceeded to go to earnest lengths to ensure the hooded, disheveled, rain-soaked music legend was, in fact, who he said he was. "

Great Story ! I've been to Long Branch a number of times. A nice town on the Jersey shore.
And a buddy named Billy Penn of 300guitars.com has a shop there

    Awww, that's cute!
I've seen plenty of deer in the wild, but never a fawn that young.

In summer camp, we had a few hand fed does. Someone fed one some magic mushrooms, and it decided to curl up and sleep it off.

I had to check as I heard about this some time ago, this an old story by now (2009).
He is known to be a sloppy dresser with weird ideas, so from a distance, he does not look like an icon of American music!

Speaking of wildlife, there is an explosion of chipmunks near me, they are in the walls now... I play them some Hendrix via the in-wall speakers (the house PO's idea of a good time).

I hope the little guy does not fall prey to a coyote. Our chipmunks seem to feed the owls, as we hear some night business to that effect...
