Default Belated NGD: Joining the CV Crowd (Squier Classic Vibe Custom)

A couple of days ago I completed a trade of my Godin LG Signature for a like-new Classic Vibe Custom Tele. I felt kind of dumb for giving up on the Godin considering how much I wanted to like it, but so it goes. I picked up some cash in the deal and made out well overall.

Now I have this pretty double-bound tele. I've been playing it over the past couple of days, getting the hang of it. It's quite nice, and the quality is good too. The neck feels really skinny, so I'll be curious to play it for extended amounts of time in a song context (i.e. not just noodling and doing exercises on it). I'm not good at judging guitars at all based on first impressions, so time will tell how I ultimately feel about it, but so far, so good!

Sorry, no pictures right now, but you all know what they look like by now, don't you?

    Beautiful guitar Eric.
    I'm officially jealous.
I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment.

Gah! Sorry for being late to the party.

    Happy New Guitar Day Eric!

That tele will have a verry different tone from your Agile.

PS- I recently played a used Agile Al3000 at the local GC and was completely blown away. Nearly took it home with me.
I liked it better than any Gibson I've played.

Congrats Eric and welcome to the club. They are very nice guitars. I really like mine. But if you like that one you would love the Butterscotch, with the maple board. They are very nice. When I take the CV Custom out of it's case i am always blown away by how sweet this guitar looks and plays, and for such a reasonable price. I am sure you will enjoy it.
Nice try on the pics though.

Nice Eric! I have had mine a few months now, and I have not gotten tired of it at all. I bet you will enjoy it in the long run also. They seem very nice to me. I just took mine on vacation, and really enjoyed having a good, quality guitar that I did not really worry about along with me. I used the heck out of it, and everyone that heard it really liked the sound. Even through the really cheap Fullerton strat pack SS amph I brought with me. Congrats on getting yours!

Thanks! I've been using mine a lot recently for couch practice, since it's a bit more handy than a Les Paul. I tripped over the cord and had it do a faceplant on the carpet yesterday, so the switch is a little loose now, but I figure that can be replaced later if it's really an issue.

I agree that it has very nice sounds in it. It's twangy on the bridge without getting too harsh, which is something I couldn't necessarily say about prior teles I've had. The quality overall is really good too, though the tuners feel a little stiff sometimes. The pots are very nice.
