NGD Ibanez AG95 Or How I found my inner Wes

My new (to me!) Ibanez arrived today! beautiful guitar. Very light weight, great pickups, and fantastic neck. It felt comfortable right away. It is a true hollow body guitar. The wood is Bubinga and as the photos show it looks great. sounds good playing blues and I love the tones for helping to find my inner Wes Montgomery!

I like it! Use it everyday for practice. I only play at home so it doesn't get cranked up too much. Few times it has been it sounded real good for what I play. Not real good for Motörhead but works good for Otis Redding which is more my style.

Beautiful guitar! I love Bubinga wood, my amph is made out of it but it's not quilted like your Ibanez. I'm sure it's super
resonant. Nice score!

It is surprisingly loud. Even without amplification it really rings out. The pups are super hot also

I have one a few years ago. It was a nice looking amp with a lot of headroom. I used the effects loop as well. I found it to be a little sterile and very loud. I ended up trading it if it had the more gain channel like its brother I probably would still have it. I bought a 65 Deluxe and it was more to my taste. The 22 watts was easier to get "cookin" For the money the BDRI is a great amp thoough.
I have always wanted to try a jumbo body style Electric like a Joe Pass. I have a Sheraton and a 335 but they are semi.
Do you have any issues with feedback?

One of the reasons I bought the BDRI was because the price was right. Most of the stuff I play doesn't need a channel with lots of gain. I do use the effect loop also. This was another selling point for me.

As for the size of the guitar it really is not what I call "jumbo" Here is a picture of it compared to my Hagstrom which is LP size.

I think it is kind of more like a L4/ES175 then a L5 size When I played it yesterday I was facing the amp and about 5 feet away and it was right at the edge of feedback. BTW if you want to talk loud amps....

I can't make out what model it is but I have a DSL100 as well. I have loud covered pretty good as well.
Yea I thought it was one of the bigger thicker hollow bodies. The hollow bodies were known for feedback so they started to put the block in them and made them Semi. A little different tone though.
The pickguard matching the guitar is a nice touch. I thought only the Heritage guitars had that.

It is a deep body, but much more manageable width. I also have a 335 which as you mentioned is a different tone. The stack is an early '90s JCM 900 50w

Man, that JCM is a great amph. I imagine that the Ibby can scream through that bad boy (from a distance).

I'd love to see a vid of someone rocking out on one of these, Nuge style.

I'll try and get a sound clip or video up next week. My guitar teacher is coming over for a lesson and I will see if he would be willing to make a small demonstration video for me. Here is a video of us so you can gauge the sound quality (don't criticize my playing to badly please). Don't know if a can get him to play through the full Marshall stack though. Left him use it for a show at a high school auditorium. When they were doing the sound check they asked him to turn the amp down cuz everrything was too hot through the board to try and keep up with it!
