Default Site is Very Slow Lately

Excruciatingly slow. Response time is normal for other web sites I use, so I figure the problem lies here.

Same here. All pages load slowly.

I don't know about that. For simple fora such as this, services like Yuku are stupid cheap for ad-free enjoyment. I realize that the recent problems here are probably an anomoly, but it has been going on for a few days, and the ads since the re-vamp are annoying.

It's acting slow for me too. Maybe it needs some lube?

All better now. No more lag.

EDIT: Disregard. I posted above from work. It is still slow at home.

This page, with 8 posts and no pics or video took over 40 seconds to load for me.
    That's molasses level slow.

No problems whatsoever for me, and I've used it on both my Linux and WinXP partitions, with Firefox 5 on both.

I've been getting some serious lag on my end, but not 40 seconds worth. More like 15-30 for the most part, and that's for pages without pics. Sssssslllllloooooowwwwwwww.....

    Approximately 40 seconds here.

But I must say that I'm really impressed by how quickly the site administrators are all over this.

Everyone is cutting their budgets it seems. Robert must have had to go to a dial up server.

seems the sever needs to be rebooted to clear up some stale handles and so forth and maybe more memory.

Nice attitude. Maybe you should create and admin your own site. I'll stop now before this gets ugly.

I can remember the days of dialup when every page took that long to load...

Still, if the adverts bother you that much, get an adblocker plugin for your browser (I run one, although I have got a paid subscription here to make up for it...).
