Hello boys, I got myself a new toy! A Yamaha Pacifica 812WX (not even related to the low end Yammies that they sell today). Very nice guitar with Sperzel Tone-Loks, Wilkinson VS100 Bridge and Duncan pickups (´59 and 2 x SSL1).
Unfortunately it´s the usual deal, the strings are totally dead and the action is sky high.. gonna get my local luthier to take a look at it and I bet he will make it smooth as butter..

I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

Very nice! Back when I first took up guitar I should have listened to the advice a guitar playing friend gave me and bought a Pacifica. A little TLC and you should have a very nice guitar!

Nice. I actually saw it on Facebook before I came here. Those can be pretty sweet guitars. I hope you enjoy it.

It seemed to me while reading lots of reviews and watching youtube clips that these guitars are seriously underrated (which usually means low price for a lot of guitar), so I bought it unseen for about 650 use, and I must say that I am more than happy with it so far, despite the almost unplayable action.

Spud, does your extensive guitar collection include a Pacifica?

Cool. That's a pretty guitar. I will admit to knowing almost nothing about Yamaha guitars, though I know Ty Tabor endorsed them at one point. What's the story on their modern-day guitars?

No sir. I'm holding out for a good deal on a Ty Tabor model if anything.

I think you probably asked about the one guitar model that he DOESN'T own. (Just kidding, Spuds!)
