Holy crap! I'd be afraid to play that guitar, because an alien baby might explode outta my gut. (LOL)

Seriously, it looks great! Can't wait to see what the finished product looks like.

Wow, an excellent artist with some serious carving skills.

One of these days, I'll finish carving my cedar mailbox post, but it is nowhere near this level.

He only charges $400 and you tell him what you want. You have to supply the guitar, but he found an Ibanez for me at a local shop where he lives.

Dang, that IS pretty awesome! I don't much care for the usual florals and such and extreme carving, but I'd hit that alien any day - great choice for carving!

What's the finish gonna be? Hopefully not some dull brown...that would scream for some black and gray staining applied very carefully so the details show...but, you know, alien color scheme as well...but, even in just brown that's gotta be the coolest carved body I've seen!

He's using a bronze finish... a paint with actual bronzing in it so it will look somewhat metalic from what I can gather. It will be dark in the recesses and polished to be lighter on the raised surfaces, to give it a nice 3D look.

I know it gets cold up there, Dee, but I'm sure you could do better on even the coldest of nights! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have but a pair of words to express myself at this point. "WOW" and "WANT". That's just about the coolest thing ever.

I wasn't expecting those knobs... he thought it would help finish off the look and he hand-caved them.
