    Default Lou Reed/Metallica streams

I just don't see how this project ever came about, was completed, or released.

I mean, I'm a fan of both on their own but together....it just doesn't work at all.

Is this for real? I've listened to a couple of songs, and I'm with you -- I can't possibly understand how this came to be. I'm kind of sort of flabbergasted.

I listened to the song that has the Small Town GIrl refrain. I can't figure out if this is a joke or not. ?

Someone predicted that it would sound like Lou Reed talking over Metallica riffs. Bingo.

I did like their version of Sweet Jane, though. I think that's where this whole project came from.

Dude. I just watched that video. Has Kirk Hammett always been that bad? It seemed like it was an accident if he was ever in time with the rest of the band during that song.

I think they just wanted to see if they could do worse than St. Anger.

The guys over at Guitar Squid have great poll discussing the merit of this album.

Hammett, IMO, has always been one of, if not the most, overrated guitarists. Hetfield is wayyy better and used to play like 95% of their album guitar tracks. Hammett just basically added some tapping solos over his guitars. Until Load, when he started playing rhythm as well and it all went south since.

Amps: Marshall JVM 410H w/ Plexi Cap mod, Choke Mod & Negative Feedback Removal mod, 4x12", Behringer GMX110, Amplitube 3/StealthPedal

Half a dozen custom built/bastardized guitars all with EMG's, mostly 85's, Ibanez Artwood acoustic & Yamaha SGR bass, Epiphone Prophecy SG, Vox Wah, Pitchblack tuner plus assorted pedals, rack gear etc. for home studio use.
