Well took advantage of not being able to go anywhere, put set of pups in They are a set from Guitar Fetish , overwound set on clearance This might be the best $16 i've ever spent totaly blown away by them bridge is just awesome nice sharp aggressive bite the middle and the neck are alittle muddy not bad I can live with it but for $16 what can you expect might even straighten that out playing with pickup height
put these in an johnson strat copy I pickup at a pawn shop for $45 going to put a wilkinson steal block tremolo ( also frm G F) and new nut then set it up with some 10 or 11"s and she'll be good to go

Being snowed in is a good excuse to dust under the fridge too.

I got some of the humbuckers they were blowing out too. I haven't put them in anything yet...I'd like to say that I'm waiting to be snowed in but if we get snow I'm going skiing!
If it rains after it snows...then I'll put them in.

Some Strat pickups are particular about their height. Try running them low to begin with and see if they clear up. Then raise them a little bit at a time (assuming you haven't tried this yet).
    Congrats on a good deal.
