Default Bastill Day - New Cover

    Hey Folks,

Here's another in what seems to be an endless stream of covers from Project-43. This is the RUSH classic, "Bastille Day". This one is truly a guitar song. I grew up on this song and many of the early Rush tunes. They really molded my early rock and roll sensibilities.

As we all know, no one sounds like Geddy Lee, so we took a few liberties with the vocals and Dee did a great interpretation. This is a close mix, but there will probably be some more tweaking. We'd appreciate any input you can offer to help us nail it down.

Thanks as always for the time and feedback! Oh, and ROCK ON!

I grew up on Rush and have seen them many, many, many times. Heard them play this live as well many times and the music is dead on good. As for singing, well, Geddy does sound a bit like a munchkin.

Thanks, Beerman. We appreciate the feedback. Yes, Geddy is munchkin like for sure, but even he can't channel those critters like he used to.

Thanks again for listening and commenting!

God! Talk about bringing back memories. We used to cover that back in the 70s. I'd completely forgotten about it. Nice job on the tight mix.

It's a blast from the past for sure. This song, among many of the early Rush songs truly helped form my rock sensibilities. One of the foundation stones for me for sure.

I'll have to wait until I get home for a proper listen with better speakers than the bassless ones at work.

I used to play Bastille Day in my high school band. It was the first of many Rush tunes that I learned.

I think that song really set me on a path towards more complex bass playing.

I still really enjoy playing it on both guitar and bass!

Sounds really great guys. Tight. This is my favorite Rush period. I really don't care as much for the later material from Rush.
    Nice vocal on this too!

That was really good! Geddy Lee is unique, but I think Deeaa nailed it as well (if not better) than anybody else could.

As usual, outstanding work! I really dig it.

I prefer Dee's vocal to Geddy's screeching... Despite that, Rush is always fun to listen to.
