    Default Favorites of 2011

It's getting close enough to the end of the year to start compiling my personal favorite albums list for 2011. I figured I'd do a Top 11 this year (see what I did there?) but after these 10 I think I'll leave that 11th space for the forthcoming Black Keys album because I'm sure it'll belong there.

-Tom Waits - "Bad As Me"
-Kasey Anderson & the Honkies - "Heart of a Dog"
-Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit - "Here We Rest"
-Steve Earle - "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive"
-Star Anna & the Laughing Dogs - "Alone In this Together"
    -Wilco - "The Whole Love"
-Bill Frisell - "All We Are Saying"
-Explosions in the Sky - "Take Care Take Care Take Care"
-Those Darlins - "Screws Get Loose"
-Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears - "Scandalous"

    And the rest of you?
Which albums were top of of the 2011 class?

Need time to regroup and remember what year this was?

That'd be a good complementary thread to this one. There are plenty of catalog albums I discovered for myself this year that made it into the heavy rotation at one time or another.

I forgot about Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit - Here We Rest.
It easily fits in my top 2011 albums.

The Black Keys album is a late add to my list as well. Figured it would be. I love those guys and this album is chock full of rock.
A few others that I picked up after I made this list that I really enjoyed are Glossary's "Long Live Us All" and American Aquarium's "Small Town Hymns"

My wife really enjoyed this one as well. She's a big DCFC fan and I know this album spent a lot of time in heavy rotation in her car.

Turns out I was right on the year. Those are still my top three then. And I got Revelator, Tedeschi Trucks Band, for my wife for Christmas, and we are really enjoying that. I want to check out a few more that have been listed here, and also want to check out George Benson's release from last year.

I enjoyed the new Foo Fighters, August Burns Red, Incubus, Primus, Tom Waits, and Jamie Cullum the most this past year. Although I just recently started listening to the new Primus and Tom Waits shortly after Christmas I guess.
