Default Boss footswitches for roland cube amps

Thinking strongly of getting a Roland Cube Amp and from what I read, having a footswitch(s) makes life easier.

There are latching and non-latching footswitches and I know nothing about any of this stuff. Would some of you be so kind to explain this in layman's terms and possibly advise which way to go?? Thanks.

Most amps require a latching style footswitch. The non-latching are for (typically) keyboard sustain pedals and the like. However, the Behringer line of amps with digital effects use a non-latching style, so it is not always cut-and-dry. Basically, the difference is the same as the difference between a switch on a floor pedal effect (e.g. MXR effect pedal) which is latching and a button on a game controller which is non-latching or momentary. I hope this helps you in your quest for "tone."

The Behringer AB200 can be configured for either latching or non-latching operation.

Current modelling Cubes use non-latching footswitches. Here's a link to a guy who makes custom footswitch solutions and sells on ebay. I had one for my Cube 60. It was well made and worked perfectly.
