Default Some thoughts about Glen Campbell

Southeast Michigan is fortunate to get two visits from music industry giant, Glen Campbell. I just grabbed tix to a May 11 show at a small suburban showroom, and I am stoked. He’s also playing Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor this month.
Sadly, this is Glen Campbell’s farewell .
After a critically-acclaimed album in 2011 (his last planned studio work) followed by a tour, he plans to quietly retire, as he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Glen Campbell never learned to read music, yet he was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in the industry. And of course his own discograpahy is legendary. I expect the show will be emotional and heroic.

I think Ghost On The Canvas is one of the best albums of 2011.

He sure is one heck of a player... We have a station out of Houston that plays classic country, and when "Wichita Lineman" and "Gentle on My Mind" come on, I stop what I'm doing to listen. He's yet another of those country artists that's had a few brushes with the law, and some hard times, but managed to put a great body of work out there over a long time.

He's a great singer, too. Should be a good show. Post a review after you see him!

I just remember from his coming on TV when I was a little kid. He had that stylized western sun on his set. I would like to check out some of his later stuff.

I remember watching that as well. Glen has several great classic songs that still impress me.
