    Default Pritchard Amp (Black Dagger)

    In the first few files there are few (delay) effects used. Some of the others use a bit of distortion. This is an incredible amp... solid state, but sounds more tube like. It has various inspired voicings (Fender, Marshall, Vox). I'll post a view soon.

    Used a Casper GT custom guitar through a Pritchard Black Dagger amp. Effects including an Analog Alien Fuzzbubble-45, a Boomerang delay, and a pre-amp/compressor via a Boss GT-Pro. The low riffing is courtesy of a drop-tune of a Whammy DT.

    I've heard very great things about Pritchard amps, and I'm personally a fan of solid-state amps. It's always a little difficult to tell the difference between model though -- do you have any guidance for how to navigate the model names?

    The Black Dagger is the base model (one channel), whereas others are based on this... either more voicings (e.g., analog inspiration 'sounds like Fender, Marshall, Vox, Boogie, etc.), or clean voicings on one channel and dirty voicings on another. I'm not sure if this is clear or too vague, but let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    A mix of genres... 80s ballad... some metal... some punk.

    This song is about a girlfriend who keeps bringing up your past, with other girlfriends. The response is that one's past is the result of you finding and being with her eventually.

    Using a Boss GT-Pro (rack mount) through a Pritchard Black Dagger Amp, and some delay via a Boomerang delay... with a Casper GT Guitar and a Timber-Tone (wood) pick (medium gauge).

    How do you feel about the boomerang chorus/delay now you've had it for a while?

    I like the chorus aspect when using clear (in the cut) tones, but typically don't use it with fatter, more disorted sounds (no different than any other chorus). Having said that, it's one of the better choruses I have tried, based on the fact that I only have used a few settings in chorus (you know how it is... you get pedals with all kinds of presets that sound cool, but you never seem to apply them to your own music). In regard to the delay, I'm the same way... there's only a few pre-sets I use regularly, and so I don't need something that offers a ton of options (which is why I sold my DigiTech TimeBender). Nonetheless, I find it to be one of the clearest and less muddy delays I have tried. It does not seem to mess with the tone at all... very transparent.

    Thanks Brian, that's cool to hear.

    The Boomerang III looper I have is still my "desert island" pedal (Closely followed by my Strymon El Capistan). I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any future Boomerang products.

    I’m a Floyd fan, and I found the group was at its peak with the concepts and wording of Waters, together with the influence of the band’s sound... particularly Gilmour. This song was developed in that vein, with the words relating to politics and war, but the sound coming from the band as a whole. The guitar solo (and any guitar parts) are courtesy of the FuzzBubble-45 through a clean Pritchard (Black Dagger) amp, with some echo via the Boomerang chorus/delay. The guitar is custom built by Casper Guitar Technologies.
