Thumbs up Gig report w/usual ridiculous pics, blah blah freakin blah

Played Wednesday at one of our usual haunts, the BackStage Lounge (ironically named, since there in fact is no "backstage' area there). Openers chosen by the house were really kinda inappropro, I think they only did one original. Punk and 'cover band' doesn't really go together unless your approach is to 'fsu'/do punk versions of non-punk songs. Kinda bad choice by the house but beyond our control. Nice guys and to their credit they and their friends stayed for the whole evening, so props to them for that. They have the ability to be a good band eventually if they write some stuff and work more on stage presence.

We played middle. Started OK but rhythm guitarist had tuning probs eventually, as well as turning up mid-set too loud. I tried to avoid a volume war by just having my guitar turned up in my monitor, but the video shows I shoulda just gone whole hog and turned up my amp, or (better yet) ordered him to turn down (sometimes one has to do such things-- heavy is the head that wears the crown).

Anyhow, semi-standard problems aside, we were received well and lotsa people, including a musician whose opinion I really respect, liked it, so maybe I'm quibbling. (Though I doubt it.) And on the upside the rummy who hangs out in the place every night who is our 'fan' (he's also an acquaintance of our rhythm guitarist's mom) was being his usual obnoxious self, so I threw a beer can at him from onstage. That's always fun. And we sold a few CD's and I even autographed a couple. And I drew blood (left shin, back of right hand), which is a good sign too.

Closers were the super bosstastic Barb Wire Dolls, from Greece. Very talented and sweet peeps. Talked to the guitarist Pyn a bit about gear, he wanted to borrow my cab so he could have a 2-cab rig for their set but unfortunately there was an impedance mismatch issue, so unpossible. He really liked my Sovtek MiG50H.

Without further ado, the ridiculous pics, and my traditional encouragement to call me on my poseritude.

    Have fun kids.

Yeah, a knee drop like that to the floor couple with the lean-back of the upper body to the ankles would mean ONE thing to me...........SURGERY on both knees.

Naw shoot. I've already had my left knee rebuilt a long time ago, ACL tear from association football. It's been taking knee drops for years.
