Ronnie Montrose was a big inspiration for me when I was growing up, learning guitar. When I first heard his version of "Town Without Pity" I was completely blown away that someone could make guitar sound that cool and melodic. I bought the "Open Fire" album and listened to it so much that I nearly wore out the grooves in the vinyl. His acoustic playing was just as good as his electric playing, as that album contained tracks that featured both. What a great player he was. I was very sad to see that he had passed away.
