Default Have fun with the 1940 Census data...!

As you may have heard, the 1940 Census data was made public via a dedicated server early this week.

It crashed at first, but it is up now.

Fun stuff. Search is by street name.
I looked up my street, as I always have been curious about the prior owners of my place. There were apparently lots of salesmen back then... and houses were worth 5000 bucks!

If I understand the history of my neighborhood well enough, the 1940s residents of what is now my street were mostly oak trees.

There are plenty of small towns surrounding Tampa though I know very little about most of them. I know Tampa itself was pretty populated by the 40s, but the neighborhood I live in was undeveloped until at least the 70s.

Same here. Historical aerial photos show fir trees and cow pastures.
