    Default R.I.P. Donald "Duck" Dunn

Legendary bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn has passed at the age of 70.

You guys that know me here know my love of Stax Records. There's no way to overstate the impact of Dunn on the sound of the MGs and the overall sound of most Stax recordings. As far as my own bass playing, Dunn was a huge influence as well. Very sad to hear that he's gone.

This one was always my favorite MGs tune...

Oh wow. This is really sad news.

I really loved Duck's deep grooves.

One of the great legendary bass players.

Wow, I just read the news. Donald was one of The Greats, to say the least.

Steve Cropper is one of my favorite guitarist and he and Donald Dunn were a great combination. They laid the foundation for some of the greatest R&B singers ever. I am very saddened by this lost.
