    Default Debut Gig

Last night was the inaugural performance of a band I've been working with for a while. What a blast we had. We were very well received. Individually, each of us knew of flaws and flubs, but none of the others knew. Lots of noise was made by the crowd. My kids came, not expecting to be more than encouraging, and ended up very pleasantly surprised. We had a Jock from Chicago's biggest rock station (XRT) in attendance....stayed for the whole set, and said he was diggin' it. They do a local music program on Thursdays that we're hoping to get some exposure on. EP to be finished Tuesday. I'll share some sounds then.

Meantime, here's a link to a folder of photos taken by friend of the band. despite the lack of focus....it grasps the energy of the event pretty well. There's a bit of Heritage content in the last few frames..... Enjoy. Like our page if you haven't already! We're on facebook as Celebrity Hostages

My rig. only play a bit of rhythm in this band. mostly just vocals. Note, 2 DuhVooDooMan pedals on the board, one being the Klone, which is now completely the basis of the sound. Playing clean, with a bit of verb, and a whole lot of boost from the klone, just a hint of drive....sounds fantastic with this band.

I get an error when I try to follow the link to the pics.

Congrats on the first gig. It sounds like it was a good time for the band and the crowd. I wish you much more of the same.

Glad to hear you are now indoctrinated to live playing. Careful, it's addictive.

The photo link doesn't work for me either. How are we supposed to make fun of them if we can't see them?

hmmmm, link is working great for me now, and It wasn't when RG made his comment.

Perhaps you need to be logged in to FB before you hit the link. Goes straight to a page with 38 photos on it. Some pretty cool.

Start by finding the band.... Celebrity Hostages, on FB. A dude named Wes shared a link on the page to a folder of photos.

DVM, I haven't followed up since I really explored this thing. Sounds GREAT (Klone). I'm not too experimental...I found what I like, and there she sits. Both the 535 and the tele just love the pedal. A little 'verb, a little tremolo....I'm good.

    Thanks man, happy to represent!!

I will try later. Pretty hard to "LIKE" somebody when you can't "FIND" them. lol Hey, I'm happy as heck for you. Takes some stones to get out there and perform at any level.

Luckily, you gave us the name of your band and I went on FB and "Liked" you as the link in your original post still ain't gettin' her done. Pretty interesting site. How soon before you play some slide?

thanks man....been burnin' the candle at both ends lately.

original post edited. and thanks to all for the support.

And we play slide in out set, but not I personally. Our guitarist uses that Mondial for slide exclusively...fantastic. Clips coming soon!!

Nice going on your first gig! I play in a hobby band but we actually did 2 gigs in the last 3 months. We were scheduled to play at a pub in a couple of weeks but scheduling conflict caused us to reschedule.

I also have a DVM pedal in my effects chain, which composes of the DVM pedal, a Dan Echo, then into the amp.
