The short - my dad had an old Pentax Spotmatic. I used it a few times in the 80s at uni for a class. He gave it to me about a week ago. Some nice lenses came with it, my favorite being a 40+ year old Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4. I just recently received an adapter for M42 to EOS and took a few test shots, all in manual (no AF). I was amazed at the images. The glass is crazy sharp and the modern equivalent would be very pricey - think Canon L prices. The bokeh this lens produces wide open is off the hook.
