Welcome back Pickngrin!
Nice to know the rest of the story turned out so well for the guy.
I haven't been around here much lately and haven't posted. Hopefully this is new to you folks.
Sweet Revenge for a Broken Guitar A musician named Dave Carroll recently had
difficulty with United Airlines.
United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar
($3500) during a flight.
Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by
baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar.
During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he
stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video
for youtube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded: "Good
luck with that one, pal."
So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube.
The video has since received over 6 million hits. United Airlines contacted
the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video.
Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal."
Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for
the product recognition from the video that has led to a sharp increase in
orders.
Here's the video, and it's GREAT! A Must Watch

Some people might take it as political, but Bob manages to stay neutral, yet responsible.
That's a great story... and a great video.
That's an old story isn't it?
Youtube and social media can be a strong force! I guess that can be both for good and bad, but things go viral easily these days.
The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.
Master Guitar Academy - I also teach via SKYPE.
Old story, but new to the OP. People have been griping about airline baggage handling forever; the situation doesn't seem to have ever been different. Same with guitars broken by FedEx, UPS, etc..
In the case of "United Breaks Guitars", we don't know how the guitar was packed, so maybe it's not all on the airline. And sometimes shite just happens.
