    Default G'day from Sydney, Australia....

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Mike and I am another newbie Australian member! Stumbled across this site and from what I've seen and read so far I am pretty impressed! Everyone is very welcoming which is great to see. I love playing the guitar and have been playing for quite a while, but must say that I still have room for improvement, so looking forward to picking up some good tips from the forum.

My 7 year old son has just started to play, he's a lefty and looks like he's gonna be a natural. I am looking for a good starter guitar and amp for my son so any recommendations? He's a lefty but seems happy playing right handed...

Welcome to The Fret, Mike. I think we have plenty of room for more Aussies!
(note to Robert: we could use an Aussie smiley)

As far as starter guitar and amp, you might need to make sure he'll be playing a right or left handed way first.
A Squier Affinity Strat comes in a left handed model. http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0310620532
For a great sounding yet affordable amp, the Fender Mustang 1 is a worthy candidate.

    Guitars: Lots.
    Amphs: More than last year.
