To be fair, she said a LONG time ago that she didn't want to be trying to look young and cool on a rock stage in her late 40's. She retired on her own terms, not because she couldn't have kept going. If you see her now, she doesn't dye her hair or try to hide her age, and is quite happy painting and doing whatever else she does.
So four of them didn't make it past the '70s. John Lennon barely made it out of the '70s, but that wasn't his own doing.
