    ** BUMP **

C'mon, guys! $400 for a handmade classic amp, premium materials & construction throughout! This is a steal at this price, and that's no lie. Or maybe you'd prefer to buy the original, in similarly pristine shape?? OK, but it will run you a wee bit more: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1962...-/360487522833

I have a small brain, but no money. Otherwise, you would have sold it on day 1!

Good to know someone will get it, even if I now hate them. (not really hate)

I thought I had a deal with DVM for this amp, but his "somebody with a brain" comment makes me think someone else got in line ahead of me??

I've done a fair amount of surfing regarding boutique 5F1 builds, either complete or from a kit, and as DVM has stated, he extended an outrageous deal. Thank you Thank you thank you.

I'm beyond stoked to get my hands on this amp, such that I'm already looking at having other speakers to A/B when it arrives. Hoping to find that special something.

To that end Voodoo, I notice you've got the dust cap removed from the Weber....is it super close quarters in that cab? Is there room for a larger voice coil? or is it maxed out?

Oh, yeah, TK--I meant to tell you. You got nosed out by Stephen Hawking at the last minute.

The dust cap of the Weber 10" speaker was removed to give adequate clearance with the power tube. This is a true-to-vintage-dimensions Champ cabinet, so space--esp. for a 10" speaker--is at a premium. If I was you, I would leave the Weber in there (it's a very nice sounding alnico speaker) and try a separate cabinet, if you want to fool around with other speakers. I often play this amp through my 1x12 cab with the UK Celestion Alnico Blue, which sounds great. And you'll have a LOT more choices with a 12" speaker.
