Wow nobody responded to this thread???

I am amazed everytime I watch this DVD. I am so there in heart and spirit. Jimi's performance was a guitar player's dream, especially mine. Surrounded by friends and listeners even as they departed mud soaked and exhausted...the 'Band of Gypsies' didn't care they just pretty much jammed as they wanted to. We're so lucky to have footage of this monumental event captured forever in time for those of us who couldn't quite make it.

I feel the same way everytime I watch and listen to Jimi and The Experience play at Monterey. Now that set was totally on. It was fresh, new and the energy was high. My all time favorite jam on that set is "Like A Rolling Stone". Killer Strat through Fuzz Face and Marshall tone on that one...live, loud and groovy baby.

Pedals/Effects - Cry Baby Classic Wah, Boss TU-2, Boss NS-2, Boss RC-2 Loop Station, Ross Compressor, MXR Micro Amp, Danelectro FAB Echo, Danelectro FAB Chorus, Danelectro Chicken Salad, Marshall Guv'nor Plus, Marshall Echohead, Duhvoodooman's Zonkin' Yellow Screamer, Digitech Digiverb, Digitech Bad Monkey, Dunlop Fuzz Face, Homemade Loop Bypass pedal, Duhvoodooman's Sonic Tonic (Maxon SD-9 clone +), Voodoo Labs Superfuzz

Jimi's Woodstock and Monterey performances remain my personal HOLY GRAIL of live performances.

Watching the new special editions of both concerts through 5.1 surround sound gives me goosebumps all the time.

    That was great Big_Rob:

What do you suspect he was doing when he was counting up the frets at the beginning of the second song? I suppose it was a joke but you never know.

Yes, Jimi's music affects me in heart and spirit too, every time I listen to it. It reaches me much deeper than most current artists do.

Dang, what a guitar player and artist!!

That video is a bit long to watch at work tho...
