Default The Jackson DK2M is back!

Jackson had dumped the DK2M for a couple of years now (that's my guitar in my avatar, Dinky body with maple fretboard and black sharkies). Now it's back, sort of.

By way of comparison, here's my DK2M:

There are several noticeable differences. The top horn as well as the bottom are scalloped now. It's got an actual Floyd on it. The volume pot has been moved back and the switch moved forward. The headstock matches the body. Offset dots instead of sharkies. Inexplicably, despite the "M" at the end of the name, the snow white version has a rosewood fretboard. The pups are direct-mount instead of pickup rings. The neck pup is a '59 instead of a Jazz. You can get it in any color that you want as long as it is satin black, white, or the above silverburst. The factory that used to make the Pro series in Japan shut down. Reportedly, these are made in Mexico. They will be more expensive at $899 street.

I guess I'm torn about it. I'm glad that there's finally a maple board Dinky again, but I miss the sharkies. The Jackson sharkies really set them apart from an ESP or Ibanez. Satin black is OK, but I don't know why the color selection is so boring. The addition of a real Floyd is nice. Basically I'm going to be thankful for my old skool DK2M, especially since I got mine for $600 less than these will be selling for.

For more discussion, there's a thread on the Jackson/Charvel forums about it: http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/134...ckson-DK2M-Wow!
