    Default Cobalt strings

I have just replaced my 3 month old Ernie Ball Power Slinkies with a set to Ernie Ball Cobalt Power Slinkies.

In essence the same string, aside from the outer material. They are brighter then the stockers, I'm just thinking too bright. I'm playing rock/metal in standard tuning.

Has anyone else got opinions on Cobalt strings?

I liked mine enough to buy a few more packs. They sound great with single coils which are about all I use anymore. FilterTrons, too. I'd guess they wouldn't sound the best for hard driven humbuckers, but maybe a little EQ change could remedy that.

I think they are more powerful and louder, a bit gritty at first buy smooth out, silky like. The tone is mellow enough the way I'm rigged up. HB's too, no problem.

Cool, I'll give em a few days and play the eq game. I'm usually driving through a Seymour Duncan Distirtion humbucker
