I was failing at the saxophone at 12, riding my new Schwinn 10-speed, fishing like a fiend at the local pond, and even hunting squirrels along the creek behind the house. Fun stuff, but certainly no prodigy!
I'm a fan of David Allen pickups, especially his Buck 90s. I was checking out vids for his Tele pickups when I stumbled across this... dare I say... "child prodigy?"
He even knew when the guitar was slightly out of tune. So you know he has technique and an ear.
I'd sure be a proud papa if that was my kid, but I'd also CUT HIS GD HAIR!
Nothing is anything until it is written. After that, it's everything.

Recovering from a broken arm...~
Also watching the rolling Stones on French TV and wondering what the heck it was...
Oh, and the cute neighbor sunning herself on flat roof... that was interesting!!

Less golf, more saxophone
My interest in guitar was just starting and I hadn't developed any skills yet. Mostly I was chasing cows and riding mini-bike...and my hair wasn't long like that - yet.

Ha! Tele-ish now inbound.
The kid sounds great!
At twelve, I was playing trombone in the school band and derping around like the twelve year old derp that I was. I had a guitar, but didn't start playing with any seriousness until I was 15.
I'm not sure, but I think I was mostly masturbating and thinking about girls.
Guitar didn't enter the picture until 2 years later. That's probably why I suck
at it now....playing guitar...not the other...
BMX & dirtbike. Nothing else was important for a long time. Took up drums at 16 but never learned properly.
Took up guitar at 38, still learning two years later. It's not that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, it's just that there's a lot more stuff going on. My eldest took up bass at the same time and is progressing nicely.

This really made me laugh like a wildman I still have the giggles...............classic brother
riding my bike. I was taking piano lessons and was getting pretty decent by then. I have forgotten most of that now.

Just starting out with my first cover band. Strumming acoustic, learning bass, and singing. I can't play like that now much less then. I could sing pretty good though at 12 if you didn't mind the girly voice with the occasional octave blurp.
Wow Tig! I don't even want to know where you pulled that out from!
Sadly, there are some early 70's photos of my brother, sister, and me that look all to similar to the Brady Bunch!
7 years old in 1970. I'm in the orange shirt riding my first motorcycle, a Honda QA-50. Brother and sister are also getting ready to ride.
Awesome!
How about at 7 years old?
She's about 10 now, but here she is at 8...
