Default Groovy Jazz backing track in F (great for jazz beginners)

    Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share this jazz practice backing track in F -

it's pretty handy for getting a taste of playing jazz - and just fun to get either really bluesy or totally jazzy on...

    Chords:

    II: F9 I Dm7 I Gm7 I Bbmaj7 C7 :II

    Theoretically speaking, it's a I - VI - II - IV - V progression.

    Scales:

    Try mixing F Major Pentatonic Scale: F G A C D (F)

    (same as D minor Pentatonic)

    And

F Minor Pentatonic Scale: F Ab Bb C Eb (F)

As well as the F Minor Blues Scale: F Ab Bb B C Eb (F)

If you want to get really jazzy about it, I suggest you play around with outlining the arpeggios...

    F9 Arpeggio - F A C Eb G

    Dm7 Arpeggio - D F A C

    Gm7 Arpeggio - G Bb D F

    Bbmaj7 Arpeggio - Bb D F A

    C7 Arpeggio - C E G Bb

For a slightly more challenging progression, try this Medium Swing Jazz Blues Backing Track in F

And there's more jazz jam tracks here: http://www.quistorama.com/jazz

    Enjoy

Or if you want to practice a basic 2-5-1 jazz progression - here's a bossa nova style jam track made specifically for that purpose
