Default What did I just do?

I just put the Hagstrom Viking up for sale, I just never play it anymore. Instead I always seem to grab the acoustic, a little mint green Gretsch Jim Dandy.

See I've been getting into some Delta Blues finger picking and slide lately. Not as cool as it sounds, I'm still just doodling around dreaming of one day reaching a mediocre amateur level.

Although the Jim Dandy has a nice bluesy sound I want more. So as sad as it is the Viking has to go in favour of a resonator. I've always wanted a metal body reso.

Today I ordered a brand new Gretsch Honey Dipper. http://www.gretschguitars.com/produc...ll-brass-body/

It'll be about a week til it gets here and if the Viking isn't' gone by then I'll trade it in for half the value of the Gretsch.

So why did I just write all this nonsense? Well I guess i'm looking for you guys to tell me I won't miss the electric too much

You'll have loads of fun with the reso - if the acoustic side is where your ears and fingers are leading you, I wouldn't worry about the electric for now. If that bug returns, you can always get another one down the road.

Congrats on the Honeydripper. I must admit I am not familiar with the Gretsch resos but if it's a Gretsch, one would hope that it lives up to the Gretsch name.

I have an old Liberty FA-100 copper round-neck reso that I really like a lot. Welcome to the "dark side". Resos can be addictive.

    What?

The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.

    Thanks guys.

The Honey Dipper will get here tomorrow or early next week. Although it's been the last week with the Viking it hasn't come out of it's bag once. I guess that says it all.
