When to get frets done ... A question
I have always gone by gut feel regarding getting frets replaced or touched up. It generally works, but...
I am getting my deluxe strat pups replaced, opting for custom shop 69s. Figured if it is getting surgery anyway... There is no audible fret wear issue, intonation is fine. But lots of visible wear on the medium wires. Get them done is what I'm thinking but others have said don't mess until you hear evidence, buzzing, fretting out etc. Thoughts?
Guitar has a roller nut which I am not wild about but don't plan to change due to the complexity of that.
