Classic riffs for remembering the major and minor pentatonic scales
Well, classic for those of us of a certain age...
This may be one of those things that is already common knowledge but FWIW, I heard these two riffs when practicing the major and minor pentatonic. Both consist of a straight run of the scale tones from tonic to octave (so, 6 notes).
For the minor, it is the bass riff that opens the second section of the CSNY song 'Carry On'.
For the major, it's the opening guitar riff to 'My Girl' by the Temptations...
