    Default Speaker replacement for morons

OK, I've seen DVM's pictorial guide to replacing the AD30VT's stock speaker with a Celestion G10. Some day I will make this swap, hopefully later this year. My question is this. I've also got a little Peavey Blazer. At one point I had thought of replacing the speaker in that too. One guy at the guitar shop said a good speaker would turn that into a very cool little amp. I tried to disconnect the speaker, but couldn't figure out how to get the clips to release. Is there some trick to it? I pulled on them pretty hard and was concerned that I would damage the connectors if I pulled any harder. The connectors seem to be the same as the ones on the AD30VT, judging from DVM's pictures.

They're probably just crimped on pretty tightly to give good contact. You may be able to pry the "foldover" side tabs back apart a bit with a small screwdriver or similar tool. As long as they're not soldered on, you should be able to work them loose without breaking the tabs on the speakers--just be careful.
