    Default A Slow Funk Jam

While I continue to explore what my new recording interface can do (hint: probably more than I need!), I recorded a "quick and dirty" jam on a funky backing track.

Actually I did three takes on this, but decided to keep the first one, because I liked the mood better.

    Here is the link:

The guitar was my blue Strat, into the THD Univalve. I used a TAD Range King booster to give it a little edge, and a EHX Dlx Memory Man delay pedal. The distortion you hear is from the amp only, which, in this case, had a NOS Telefunken EL34 power tube (thanks to my friend Spiros from Malmo )

The signal from Univalve's line-out was directed to a Red Box cabinet simulator box, set to 4x12" simulation. The Red Box fed one of the preamps in the Fireface 400, getting the phantom power it needed from there.

Apart from a little compression no other effects were added to the recording.

    Hope you like it!

    Very cool Abraxas.

Yes, if you wouldn't mind posting the bare backing track here: http://www.thefret.net/forumdisplay.php?f=42

I'll bet a few others would like to play along with that one. Very nice.

Nice one Abraxas! I like that rude and raw tone. I´d like the backer too.
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
