    Default Top 10 Movies?

How about a top 10 list of the best movies you've seen?

I'll start off with something I'll probably change my mind about later:

    1. This Is Spinal Tap!
    2. Shawshank Redemption
    3. A Beautiful Mind
    4. Forrest Gump
    5. The Matrix
    6. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
    7. American Beauty
    8. Schindler's List
    9. All the Lord Of The Rings movies
    10. Fanny och Alexander
Last edited by Robert; January 16th, 2006 at 11:11 AM. Reason: Missed adding Spinal Tap!

I'm not much of a movie guy, so my favorites would be limited to the various Star Wars movies (with Ep. 3 & 5 being my favorites), the Monty Python movies, and, of course, This Is Spinal Tap.

Justaguy, I'm glad you like Oliver Twist, but it was a movie that to this day still sends me into convulsions.

This is a really tough one. I could almost sum it up as whatever movie I have seen the most recent that I liked suddenly arises into my top 10. So these are my ten in no particular order for now.

    1. The Matrix
    2. Batman Begins
    3. Gladiator
    4. Beautiful Mind
    5. Fight Club
    6. Momento
    7. Lord of the Rings series
    8. The Island
    9. Liar Liar
    10. Saw series

I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

I almost put "Contact" as well. Very awesome movie that had me pondering for weeks after I saw it.

I thought I'd mention www.imdb.com - The Internet Movie Database - just in case someone didn't know about it. It's a great resource for movie fans (I'm a movie geek!)

Another place to get an idea of what currently playing movie to go see - http://movies.go.com/reviews?view=all

    1. The Matrix series
    2. Top Gun
    3. The Godfather series
    4. To Kill a Mockingbird (Gregory Peck is a certified bad**s in this movie. Very powerful performance.)
    5. Airplane!
    6. Blazing Saddles
    7. Monty Python's The Quest for the Holy Grail
    8. The Blues Brothers (Ray Charles is priceless in this movie, along with the other cameos)
    9. This is Spinal Tap (D minor IS the saddest of all keys!)
    10. The original Rocky (not the other ones, although I've seen 'em all numerous times)

There's a bunch more, like Star Wars (episodes 4-6, and episode 3), 2001, Scarface, the Die Hard movies, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill (1&2), any of the recent Chinese Kung Fu movies (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Iron Monkey, Hero), Deliverance, The Last Samurai, We Were Soldiers, Blackhawk Down, and others. The wife and I go to movies all the time, buy 'em often, and subscribe to Netflix...

Whoa!!! Spudman, I love The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen! I have never heard of anyone else putting it on their list of favorites. My kids favorite movie when they were little was Yellow Submarine!

I'll have to wait to put top 10 but I'll start with:

    1) The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen.
    2) Being John Malkovitch.
    3) This Is Spinal Tap.
    4) Ghost Dog.
    5) Waking Life.
    6) Edward Scissorhands.
    7) The Point. (Has anyone else seen this film, with the voice of Ringo Star?)
